Chapter 3: Apparatus Technical Groups

Warning First of all, welcome. Important Notice: English is not our mother language. We try to make a translation as clean and simple as possible but... if we make any grammatical mistake: we apologize. Our intention is that you learn Rhythmic Gymnastics Code of Points and make us understand... but surely our translation will not be grammatically perfect.

Welcome to this chapter of COP for Dummies in which we are going to see the technical groups of each of the devices with a lot of audiovisual content.

Fundamental apparatus technical elements in Rhytmic Gymnastcs.

What are the technical groups of the apparatus?

They define the movements (also called handlings) that gymnasts can perform with the apparatus. They are used in each of the elements (body difficulties, apparatus difficulties, dinamyc elements of rotations...) that they perform during the exercise. There are 2 types: Fundamental and non-fundamental

FUNDAMENTAL APPARATUS TECHNICAL GROUPS

Fundamental technical groups of the apparatus in rhytmic gymnastics.

Each apparatus has 4 fundamental technical elements. They are called fundamental because they are specific and proper to the morphology (the form) of each apparatus. For example the spirals are a fundamental group of the ribbon because this apparatus allows to do them, we do not see ourselves doing spirals with the ball, clubs or the hoop... if someone can, let us know that we want to see it.

Not Funny

The code requires a minimum number of fundamental handling in each exercise (you will see in the tables where we detail each of the elements for each of the apparatus).

NON-FUNDAMENTAL APPARATUS TECHNICAL GROUPS

Non-Fundamental technical groups of the apparatus in rhytmic gymnastics.

These are other handlings that can be performed with the apparatus but are not specific to a specific apparatus. Some of these handlings are only for a specific apparatus and others are shared by all apparatus, such as throws and catches, for example..

Warning We remind you that: Each jump/leap, balance, rotation, combined body difficulties and series difficulty must be combined with a fundamental or non-fundamental technical element of the apparatus obligatorily for the difficulty to be valid.

Next we are going to see all the technical elements of each of the apparatus (hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon) through a video for each apparatus with the elements, the symbol of each of them and their description.

Tables and videos of fundamental and non-fundamental apparatus technical groups

Tooltip  We tell you how each of the sections are set up (hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon) so that it is easy to understand.

In each box you will find:

  • Code of point summary table of each apparatus:
    • the first column indicates the number of requirements the gymnast has to perform that element ("-" means that there is no obligation to perform that element).
    • the second column contains the Fundamental technical groups associated with each of the apparatus.
    • the third column contains the NON-Fundamental technical groups associated with each of the apparatus.
  • Button with link to the YouTube video where you can find an example, step by step, of each of the elements of each apparatus.
  • The cover of the YouTube video, we think that it is cute... so we have included it too 😜 It also has a link to the YouTube video.

Warning  Here we detail how to follow this part of non-fundamental technical elements that are valid for all apparatus. These elements are common to all apparatus. In the case that a specific one is only valid for one apparatus or includes all except one, it will be expressly indicated. In the video you will see several examples of each of these non-fundamental elements, with different apparatus.

  • Code of point summary table of all this non-fundamental appartus technical groups valid for all apparatus.
    • the first block corresponds to "Throws and catches of the apparatus: highs throws",
    • the second block corresponds to "Throws and catches of the apparatus: small throws",
    • the third block corresponds to "Body Difficulty under the flight of the apparatus or boomerang",
    • the fourth block corresponds to "Apparatus handling".
    • the fifth, and the last one block corresponds to "Unestable balance".
  • Button with link to the YouTube video where you can find an example, step by step, of each of this non-fundamental technical groups.

And one more topic completed... and in which we are already "experts". Did you like it?.

Good YouTube video session today 📼 We hope you found it useful!
