What is COP for Dummies
¡Welcome to Code for Dummies! This is the section of the website that has been a real elephant's gestation to bring to light... 😬 It's finally here!
And in case you're wondering...
Have you downloaded the PDF code from the FIG page and didn't know where to start?. Have you ever thought about the score a gymnast could receive and the result had nothing to do with what you had in mind? Well then, this is the place for you!
In Code for Dummies, we will learn how to interpret the Scoring Code of Rhythmic Gymnastics.
You are in the right place to learn Rhythmic Gymnastics Code for FREE.
If you used to watch rhythmic gymnastics with virgin eyes, enjoying a whole routine without knowing what was happening: here, we will learn to watch it with the same intensity but knowing a little more about the sauce that's moving in that minute and a half of an exercise. If even the least experienced in forum code has been able to distinguish between a fundamental element and a non-fundamental one, know the ingredients that make a jump valid, and understand what a risk is... You will too!
So in the next posts, we will try to dissect, in the clearest way possible, with a simple (and hopefully entertaining) guide, the scoring code of rhythmic gymnastics.
Let's not fool ourselves: we're not going to come out of here ready to go straight to a judges' table, but we will try to make sure you leave knowing and understanding what gymnasts and teams do on the mat at every moment and if, in general, it's well done or not.
Things to keep in mind:
- We can make mistakes. We've been working on this section for many weeks, we've carefully reviewed every word we've written and the examples shown in each post... if there's ever anything wrong: love and we'll fix it.
- The code is very dense and has many technical specifications, we've tried to get to the point and make it enjoyable as much as possible.
- Each chapter will have a length that will vary depending on the topic to be addressed and little by little we will delve into technical concepts.
- Each post will have embedded videos and buttons with the text "WATCH VIDEO" (like this: WATCH VIDEO) that will take you to the audiovisual explanation, slowed down and with all the details. Pay attention and don't miss any.
- Like every website in the world, and even though we've put effort into a decent mobile version, everything looks better on a computer... so if you have a moment, we recommend viewing it on a PC (or using the "View desktop site" version of your mobile browser).
- Starting today, we will be publishing one post a day (except on weekends when we "rest") until all the chapters are available for you to consult whenever you want.
- If you think your friend might be interested... Share it! Sharing is caring.
Here is the list of chapters we are going to cover in this first round. There will be many concepts that will apply to the ensemble part that we will address in the coming weeks.
As we publish chapters, we will add the link to this list. If you've landed here and several (or all) chapters are published, you can follow the course from start to finish.
